My Wall is Calling!

So close to having these hexies pieced.  Four more rows. Look at the difference in the size of the quilt when the seams are deducted!

Almost finished piecing!

This pic shows the hexies before any row seams.  I love the layout; however, the seams pull the top all together into a cohesive unit, blending the colors beautifully!

And what a difference from the original fabric!  Happy fish in a row turn into swirling hexagons. Strips of fabric were cut 3.25 inches wide, then cut into 60 degree triangles.

The hexagon one-block wonder is so much fun. The fish fabric will be my third one, and I now intend to enhance my layout methods.  There is something in quilt design for everyone!

Now to decide on border colors...

Sew fun,

  1. Love your quilt! I have a set of One Block Wonder blocks that I have laid out several times and then just put them back in the bag. I might have to pull them out again and see if I can get the setting right this time. Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Sylvia, what I do is put them up, then take a picture. I send that to my computer so that I can really see it clearly, and it is amazing what I can see that should be moved! Cannot see it with the naked eye for some reason. I usually have 5 or 6 versions in my pictures, but it works. I would love to see yours!

  2. That is an amazing change from the original printed fabric! I have never made one of these quilts but they do look so fun.
